Scouting Program
|
Purpose: As members of TAMU-ANS, an entirely student led organization at Texas A&M University, we seek to share our passion for nuclear science with the general public. In this program, Scouts get the chance to learn about that amazing power contained in the atom and its many uses to improve the quality of living for mankind and the environmental impact created in the process. Additionally, Scouts get the opportunity to see the world class research being conducted at Texas A&M in the field of Nuclear Science and Engineering. History: In Fall of 2009, the TAMU-ANS held its first merit badge for Troop 743 of the local Arrowmoon district. The next spring, the program expanded to over 60 attendees from the Sam Houston and Alamo Area Council. Since our inagural year of this program, our organization hosts nearly 100 scouts each year to earn their Nuclear Science Merit Badge. We would like to continue this tradition and help you or your scouts earn their Nuclear Science Merit Badge!
